Mary Lynn Wagner - Republican Candidate for State House District 23
New Leadership, New Ideas, Real Change
Home
Unlike many politicians who refuse to tell you what they stand for before they are elected, details of what I believe and my
plan to CHANGE and IMPROVE HD23 and Colorado are posted on this website
. I will not tell you one thing to get
elected and then vote a different way after being elected
.  What you see is what you will get!

I believe voters want to know exactly how a candidate stands on the issues and exactly what they mean by "change."
Therefore, complete and honest details on my beliefs and positions are posted on this website.

Many of the issues that impact House District 23 and the State of Colorado are very complex and can not be summed up in
a
simple campaign slogan or one liner, such as:  When it costs as much to fill your gas tank as it does your grocery cart, we
have a problem!

While that slogan of mine does illustrate the problem, it doesn't say what the solution is or what needs to be changed. To
clearly communicate CHANGE, there needs to be a detailed explanation of the issue and needed changes.  This is especially
true when there are significant philosophical differences between candidates: old ideas versus new ideas with real change
.

Before I created my brochure and started this web site, I asked over 1,200 voters in COHD23, "What are your three most
important issues?"  Based on the responses, I have listed the top 12 issues below in four rough groupings by the overall
frequency of response.  ENERGY, EDUCATION, and IMMIGRATION were the top three with JOBS/Economy closely
following.  With the current fiscal crisis that we are in, my guess is that if I asked again, Jobs and Economy would be #1.
Regardless, a
short description of my position on all the major issues is found in SUMMARY OF POSITIONS.  Following
that, each of the specific issues is listed by title which goes to the
detailed position statement. All of them aren't done yet as
I am currently adding to them as I am able.  In any case, all of the detailed position statements will eventually have
numerous references and links which you might find very interesting and informative. Finally, I list a comparison with my
candidate's voting record and my positions on the ballot initiatives.
